Who We Are
About Us
Ethiopian Evangelical Mekane Yesus Church of Washington D.C is a Lutheran Church based on faith in the Word of God. We are multi-generational, multi-ethnic church, deeply rooted in the love and unity of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Planted in 2008, DC MYC accepts, affirms, and reproduces the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as the holy word of God and as the infallible guide and divine source for all church beliefs and systems.
Our Mission
To preach, celebrate, and proclaim the truth of God’s Kingdom, raising up radical disciples of Jesus Christ who are deeply rooted in His Word, led by His Spirit, and committed to living out their faith boldly. We exist to equip believers to reflect Christ in every area of life—transforming their homes, impacting their communities, and carrying the Gospel to the nations. Through worship, teaching, and authentic fellowship, we seek to cultivate a generation that not only believes in Christ, but lives fully surrendered to His mission and purpose.

Our Vision
To withness the next generation of Christ Followers rise in the DMV area and embrace the call to discipleship, fixate on the things of God and cultivate plans for missional living.
To use every opportunity to reach more souls and have dominion by the Grace of God for the Glory of God.

To faithfully teach the Word of God, equipping us with understanding and guiding us to live it out each day.

To fix our hearts and minds on Christ, keeping Him at the center of all we do.

To cultivate a life of faith by growing in Christ, nurturing spiritual disciplines, and bearing fruit in our daily lives.
